I am such a bad friend. Haven't commented much, as I haven't had time to read everything. But, I'm trying.

I'm just going to blah, blah and bitch for a bit. Nothing important.

Man, it took me almost 2 hrs to do this post. Lame.

Busy weekend.
Ooh, Saturday started with super exciting stuff - I 'Skyped' with one of my LJ friends in England! So COOL!! This modern technology stuff has me all a-twitter! (a-twitter, get it? harhar)
It wasn't as hard as I thought to set up, and we lost video once, but it somehow got fixed. I think I hit some button or something.
I saw and said 'hi' to her son and husband, and she got to see Ratchet when he walked in front of the laptop. Boy, you guys across the pond have such sexy accents! Next session, we will try to give each other a tour of our houses.
I remember how exciting it was for us to discover the Yahoo instant messaging. This was even better! Like...like...extra hot fudge on your sundae. We'll see if we can connect again next weekend. It is a bit hard to coordinate times, as they are 6 hours ahead of me.
But, we only had about an hour to talk, as I had to leave for road clean up with the biker bitches.

The clean up gang. Found a 'BabyGap' winter jacket that I took home to wash. It was is good condition, and I can probably sell it. But, one of the other ladies found 2 pry bars. I was jealous.

Did some shopping afterwards, including ToysRUs (found Warpath!), Home Depot (wood stove gaskets), A.C.Moore (clear glass ornaments and paint for biker Christmas party favors) and Walmart (cat litter). Didn't get home until 3-ish, and was too tired to do much other than putz around the house. All that walking up the hill picking up garbage tires me out because I'm so out of shape.

Today, Sunday has been a bitch. First, my bro-in-law and I tried to take some stuff to the Goodwill trailer in Derby, but the truck was acting up. Engine revving at the stop sign and then stalling - twice. All of a sudden, my temp gauge goes all the way to the right, and the idiot light pops on telling me to check my gauges. Duh. I immediately pulled over on the side of the road and turned off the engine. We hopped out of the truck, and I tried to open the hood - not that I would know what to look for, but if something was spraying out at least I could see where it was coming from. Of course, the hood latch was stuck. I had problems with it before. Grr. So I had to crawl under the front of the truck and jab at the latch with a long screwdriver to move it just enough so I could open the hood. Engine looked fine and wasn't even that warm yet. So we slowly continued to Goodwill. Well.
The Goodwill trailer was closed. Wasted trip. Truck stalled on the way home again. Actually, we went back to ma's, as I had to grab a dresser from ma's garage to put in my garage. Long story.
Anywho, slagging truck stalled again as I was backing in the driveway.
Ma has a paved drive, and when I parked, I saw some drips behind the tires. I crawled under there again, and the fluid was pink - that means transmission fluid. Crapola.
Limped home, checked the tranny fluid and it was dry-dry-dry. Have no idea if that had anything to do with Ace stalling or running rough. I usually keep a small inventory of fluids, but of course, I didn't have enough tranny fluid to refill. Decided it would be a better idea to get it towed to the shop instead of driving it there tom'r.
Spent about an hour changing my ratty seat covers and trying to get most of the dog hair and mud off the carpets. Then called AAA for a tow to my car guy. I've been a Triple A member since 1982, and the membership really pays for itself. I get towed quite a bit. The tow truck guy remembered me, we talked a bit about deer hunting. So, poor baby Ace is now sitting at the shop. More $$ down the drain. Sigh.
And I have to save for new tires in the spring - that's gonna run me around $700. My snows are still good, and I hope I can pull 2 more years out of them. Truck tires are expensive.
Oh, and my sister gave me her car to use.

After the truck was taken care of, I had to fix my burn barrel.

New(ish) barrel needed some air holes punched in the side.

Voila! Fire!

I had 2 big bags of paper to burn, and by the time I finished, it was close to 5:30 and the dog and I were starving.
That was enough work for the day.

Oh, another exciting thing from today, a truck tipped over on the Thruway. Ma's road runs right alongside the I-90 for a bit, and apparently the driver forgot that you're supposed to keep the shiny side up.

I am guessing, if he didn't fall asleep, it was a deer. Deer cross there quite often, I've almost hit a few over the years. He's lucky he didn't blow himself up, his load consisted of tanks of something.

Alright, that's it for tonight. I had one more thing to blab about, but I'll save it for tom'r.
I will leave you with another Halloweenie pic I found somewhere.

Good night!

Your weekend sounds much better than mine, at least you got things done!

Yet another scary-ass picture, there. Those manips are super creepy!

I aim to scare!

your weekend sounds more productive than mine (though i cry with you about the auto repair bills; dad hit a deer this past week). all i did this weekend was have orientation at the new job, broken into two parts at odd times that prevented me from getting pretty much anything else done.

Yeah, those deer cause a lot of damage. But, cars nowadays are so plastic, even one crack on a bumper and it costs thousands to replace the whole slagging thing.

*nodnod* fortunately we use a small local mechanic who has connections with a "junk" parts dealer and we can get decent prices off bumpers, body panels and hoods/trunks. the light fixture will have to be new though. *sigh*

It was pretty cool.
Really? how do you have time to do anything else? It's a good thing I don't have many friends, I would probably sit here all day.

Good grief! I'm glad you were able to get the truck home at least after all that fuss.

AAA is awesome. I'm glad you had them to back you up.

Stoopid truck!
Update soon.
AAA rocks. They will even tow your motorcycle if you have Plus. Well worth the $$.
I haven't sent your stuff yet.

Good one, wish I'd thought of it!
Hmm, no bunny icon - I shall have to use the next best thing -

Actually, this bunny would make a good icon.
*note to self - turn fanged bunny into icon*
