Huh? Buffalo has a ComicCon?

Buffalo had its "Third Annual ComicCon" this weekend. I didn't even know that there had been a First or Second Annual. I just happened to see an advertisement in the local Gusto on Friday and was intrigued.

At first, I didn't want to go alone and tried to think of someone I could threaten cajole into coming with me. But, I realized I went to CA by myself, and I certainly could drive an hour and see what was up.
So, I packed a lunch, put on my TF shirt and Sunstreaker earrings and left at 9am.
Well, it was kind of boring.
I expected it to be larger with more toys. Most vendors were selling comics, with only a few of them having some toys on the side. there were a couple 'famous' Buffalo comic artists there. I had no idea who they were.
Very small room, I stood in the corner and took 2 shots.

One vendor, after helping me find some TF comics, asked my opinion on Mikaela not being in the last movie. I gleefully gave it!
Another vendor was telling about a comic he bought two years ago (I think it was a 'Tales of the Crypt') for $1,000.00, and how it was worth double that today. I started to think how pathetic to spend that much on a comic, but had to stop and look at myself. An old lady buying toys. Although, I really can't think of any single TF item where I would spend that much.

There were some cosplay people there - they told me who they were, but I had never heard of those characters. They were very nice, and I bought their DVD and a t-shirt. Proceeds went to charity.

I did pick up some swag - was looking for Predator and newer TF stuff. Most cost only $1.
What a deal.

And, this looked too strange not to buy. "Hamster Vice". I think I was hoping it was hamster porn.
It's not.

Three hamster cops who live together -

- and fight various bad guys. In this issue, it's the 'Rumble Roach'!

Influenced by Spiderman and Star Wars, I presume. "Liability" *snerk*
All in all, a pretty amusing comic.

I stayed for just over an hour.
Felt like I was catching a cold (probably from moving those desks in the rain on Friday), so Ratchet and I took a two hour nap when I got home. Still feel...funny. Better pop some more vitamin C and Zicams.

And, in the Halloween spirit, I leave you with these cool pics I found on the weirdfolks community. I wish I knew how to mess with pics like this.

Somehow, I don't picture the Predators as having fluffy kitties. Although, you never know.

Sounds like you had a pretty good time anyway. Better than cleaning house, which is what I've done all weekend.

*shudder* Those manips are creepy, just FYI.

Unfortunately, my house need some major cleaning. And upkeep - the front steps on my deck just broke and I need to fix them before the UPS guy falls and sues me.

hahaha - yeah, I love 'em! 'Tis the season!

I can't stop laughing at Hamster Vice! WTFH? Unreal!

TF comics for $1? I would've been in heaven. I don't care for IDW's dark, muddy style, but I adored Dreamwave's brightness and clarity.

That comic was funny enough that I looked for more on ebay. I think I may have to get a couple more!

Some comics were 50 cents! I didn't buy any of those.
Saw an old Thor for $35, I'm pretty sure I have that one packed away somewhere.
