BotCon Pics 6/2/11 - Part 1

Thursday was another do-tourist-things day.
First I searched for the nearest Target, as I needed a couple things forgotten from my trip to WallyWorld.
I should have taken a pic, but that Target was the fanciest and hugest Target I have ever seen.  It was 2 stories situated on a whole city block, and had its own parking garage.  I think it was 2 levels.  And landscaping and a catwalk to reach the second floor.  It was something.
Bought my stuff and took off to see Hollywood.

Saw a Jazz as I was leaving Target.

Took a wrong turn on my way to Hollywood, but that GPS was awesome.
It just recalculated and sent me on my way.  Saw this very pretty pink house and just had to snap a pic.
It looked better in real life.

Paid for parking - geez, you couldn't go anywhere in that city without paying for parking.
I think it was $2.50 for an hour and a half.
Here I am on Hollywood Blvd.

I had no map, and just walked up one side of the street and down the other.
Stars that struck my fancy:

Some of the lighting is really weird.  Half the street was in the shade, the other in the sun, which faded the shots.

"Y - M - C - A!"   Y'all know I love the Village People!

The best Tarzan, ever!  Johnny Weismueller.I loved him so much.
I really wanted to drive to Tarzana, CA but ran out of time.

And his Jane - Maureen o"Sullivan.
I looked for Cheetah, but couldn't find her.

Kirk is still better than Picard!  My t-shirt says so.

And the man who started it all.

I always loved John Travolta.

Walt and I share a birthday.

Greumann's Chinese Theatre.

I remember watching Red's show with my dad.  I always thought he was funny.

Chuck - my first movie star crush.
I was ticked that I forgot Clint was there somewhere and I didn't get a pic.  :(

I still can't believe he's dead.

heehee, I saw her in Orlando.

Loved the Scarecrow.   What a dancer.

The Weird Al of the 40's and 50's.  Funny stuff.

And how appropriate to see this after Spike.

Love CSN, and sometimes Y.

This woman was awesome.

Stopped in at Hollywood Harley Davidson and spent $43 on a stupid t-shirt.
WOW!  That was the most expensive Harley T I have ever bought.  I'm such a tourist.
Made it back to the car, 7 minutes over my time limit, but no ticket.  Phew.
I did a lot of walking, and there was more to come.
Part 2 tomorrow - La Brea Tar Pits.
Same bat time.  Same bat channel.

I'm not really a follower of the Hollywood elite, but it was kind of cool to see the stars.

I tried to squeeze what I could in that short time. I really needed at least one more day of non-Tformer stuff.

On another note, I was really bummed that I never got to meet you. Ah well, maybe next year.

I was surprised that I recognized all the names on the stars. Sad that most people aren't aware of some of the older ones.

Good for you.
There were very few of the stars on the sidewalk where I didn't recognize the name, if not exactly what they did.

'Go, go, go, Godzilla!'

It's a tossup whether that's really cool, or really silly!
Same with Snow White.
