April Snow Brings Frozen Flower Buds

In like a lion, out like a lamb wolverine.
Snow flurries this morning. Argh. [Not to be confused with Arrr – what I say when I am in pirate costume.] At least it’s nice and toasty in the house. 77 degrees! Phew, that’s a little on the warm side for me. But, the cats like it. At least we didn't get 12 inches like Pittsburgh.

I am pathetic when it comes to pranks. But, the Magistream site did a pretty good one. The administrator flooded the stream with Oblivion Pillagebeasts. Everyone gets so excited when new creatures pop up, and I released 2 of my eggs so I could snag 2 of these new ones. This afternoon, I read a post that says these eggs will never hatch. They go up to about stage 97%, and then fall back down to 0%. Hahaha – pretty funny prank!

I have been slightly interested in the new ‘Arthur’ movie coming out. Only slightly because that guy that plays the new Arthur is kind of creepy. I couldn’t recall what happened in the original, so I rented the 1981 version today. That’s a 30-year-old movie. I remember watching it in the theater. How depressing is that? Were any of you even born by 1981? Who saw ‘Star Wars’ in the theater? No one?
Gawd, I’m old.

I forgot how funny ‘Arthur’ was.
And how sad. John Gielgud was awesome.
“You spoiled little bastard….You feel unloved, Arthur? Welcome to the world. Everyone is unloved. Now, stop feeling sorry for yourself. And, incidentally, I love you.”

I also had to run to the Indian Reservation to get gas again. A new record - $114.00. But, I was running on fumes, it took 31 gallons. Going back home, I had to stop at Rite Aid to buy a sympathy card. The father of my old best friend from high school died last week. He used to tease me about owning a Harley (he was a BMW guy) and how they marked their spot. (In case you don’t know, Harley’s are notorious for leaking oil from the gaskets, and Heartbreaker is no exception. Hence, ‘marking their spot’.) I haven’t talked to her in about 8 years. I have to send a card.
So, there I am in Rite Aid and I find a nice card. I turn around, and who do I see staring at me? Special Ops Jazz. Grrr. I look all over for him for the past two months with no luck, and now this week I find two.

Gotta get ready for work tomorrow. I am so tired of taxes. Seventeen more days. I haven't even started mine - I have to find my paperwork in the piles of crap all over my great room.

And –
On the way home from work today I saw a biker dude. Only men ride when it’s 40 degrees out. Because their brain cells are kept warm as they sit on their ass.

And that’s no April Fool.

Oblivion Pillagebeast – fated to be an egg for-ev-eh.

All these guys you can click!

It's even crazier to get snow in May! You Texans are so spoiled!

Derp! I forgot I can watch videos on my phone and don't have to wait to get to a fast computer! Derp!

I never saw that video before, even though I am familiar with the song. I am still amazed that such a sexy voice comes out of that wimpy boy's mouth.

Um, I don't get how it fits with April Fool's day, though. :/

Representing 1979 all up in here! :-D

Russell Brand (the star of the Arthur remake) creeps me out. How he landed Katy Perry I will never know. He must be hung like a horse.

We had 3" here in SE PA. People were complaining about the roads. *rolls eyes*

LMAO at the assbrain comment! Everytime I see a man ride in the cold, I will think of you and chuckle.

You are all such babes in the woods compared to me. :(
I remember watching the Moon landing!

Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna like that Russell guy. You should watch the original Arthur, it is cute.

The snow melts and everyone forgets how to drive in snow.

We women bikers just don't understand it at all - if you're uncomfortable and cold, biking is not fun.

You don't SEEM like you'd be much older, if older at all, than a lot of us.

I will look into the original Arthur for sure.

I was passed by a group of Harleys on the street yesterday, and they were loud. I thought, "That's so I know where they are." and smiled when I remembered who taught me that. :-)

i was born in 1981. i turn 30 in... five and a half months. damn. where did the year go already?

and men are definitely the only ones crazy enough to be out on their motorcycles in 40 degree weather. *pointed look at my father*

I know, it's hard to believe it's April already. 264 days until Christmas! Better get cracking!

Men. Pfft. Can't live with 'em, can't bury them in the backyard without the neighbors seeing.

Threw all my tax stuff into a brown paper bag (literally) and gives to accountant. Woulder rather pay her half my rebate than do taxes myself.

Saw original Arthur in the theater: check. Debating whether to see remake for the twist of having that great actress (who's name escapes me, duh) play the Gielgud role.

Saw Star Wars (waaaay before it was A New Hope) 16 times that summer---it literally saved my life (thank you, George).

Recently had to explain to a Tron fan that Jeff Bridges dad was in a show called "Sea Hunt": received blank stare back.

Oh, I'd charge an aggravation fee if my client came in with all their stuff in a bag.

Wow, 16 times! That's fantastic. Some time in 1976, I read this little paperback missing a cover I picked up from a yard sale. Then the movie came out, and I realized that I knew what was going to happen. At that time, I never knew that people wrote stories and turned them into movies! derp.

I remember Sea Hunt!

I love a good, harmless prank!

Taxes suck hose water.

Me too! I wish I had a better imagination to prank people.

I've found that people's opinions on taxes vary on whether they get huge refunds or have to pay. I think I'll have to pay NYstate this year.
Apr. 10th, 2011 09:30 pm (UTC)
Bleck...we've never had to pay the state cos they always take too much out of Dirk's paycheck. :/

By the way, I saw this the other day and thought of you:

it's a Harley!

ooh, bee-oo-tee-ful.
I saw like, 500 thousand bikes out this weekend. OK, so I exaggerated a bit. But, the weather was so warm and all these bikes were biking and I had to work. >:(

I don't even know if it will start.

Dat chrome, it was so shiny!

That must have been like torture. O_o

Hello and thankee for the snailio! I'm betting the weeks will fly by...
I saw Star Wars in the theater at least two or three times, which was unusual for me at the time since someone had to drive me there... ;D I was 9.
Apr. 5th, 2011 01:51 am (UTC)
yeah, another couple weeks and I think it'll fly.

Nine! Very impressive - not many kids would spend their allowance on seeing a movie multiple times.
