Well, Spring has officially sprung in Eden.  I heard the spring peepers yesterday.  I don't hear them this morning, though.
And, you may ask, what is a spring peeper?

They are cute, tiny frogs about an inch long.  Noisy little buggers, too.  And they are pretty hard to catch in the spring.  As you walk by, they automatically stop singing and duck under the water.
Our woods has a lot of wetlands, and I recall as a kid standing perfectly still in the middle of the swamp holding my bucket, waiting for them to start singing again so I could catch one.  I really don't have the patience for that now.  Although I have caught a few behind my house as they hop on by, doing whatever peepers do in the summer.  My backyard is pretty damp, so I see a lot of tree frogs, peepers and salamanders.

Today is a rare day off.  Don't have to work or mommy-sit.  Yays!  I would love to sit at the computer and play, but I MUST clean my pig sty.  It is so bad by the front door, I have to step over piles.  I would be embarrassed to have anyone come in and see my house right now.  That's the problem with living alone - there's no one around to yell at you to pick up your shit.  And I am not obsessed with cleaning, anyway.  I can drop something on the floor, look at it and say, 'oh, I dropped that', and calmly walk over it countless times without picking it up.  Very bad, I know.
I also have to change one of the cat boxes, bring in more wood, burn my papers on the firepile, put away clean clothes that have been sitting in the basket for a week and a half, get my tax papers together, go to church this evening so I can pick up my donation letter, and stop in at H&R to finish up one amended return.

See, now I'm procrastinating so I don't have to start cleaning.  Bad Pammy.
Better get going, I got up at 9:30 this morning and haven't eaten yet.
Mmm, pancakes for breakfast today.  With strawberry syrup!  Oink, oink.

Hope your Saturday is more placid than mine!

I miss the frogs---there used to be tons around when I was a kid, but too much construction now and they're all gone.

It's neat to hear them at night as you go to sleep. But, sometimes when the wind blows, they are so loud I have to close the window.
I've read amphibians are usually the first to go when the habitat changes.
Humans are taking over and it's getting to the point where there is nowhere for the animals to go. That's why there's a deer problem in the suburbs nowadays.
