D'YC Rated # 5

I'm sure no one else besides a1057soul cares, but my alma mater was rated by Military Times magazine as one of the best colleges in the nation for veterans.

Strange how I'm long gone from that institution, but I still feel the pride of having attended.  Silly human foible.

I was the one who pushed and pushed and pushed for the Veteran's Affairs Office to be created... Ben Randle, the guy who took over the VA stuff from me when they created the office, is a retired Marine who did 3 (at least, I think) tours in Nam and knows how the red tape works... he's grown our veteran enrollment fro the 40 or so students we used to have to almost 200 in just over a year...

D'Youville was the first in the area (and maybe the state) to sign up to the new Yellow Ribbon program (basically allows post9-11 vets to go to school for free)... and has really grown the department and offerings for verts on campus.

(which was part of my intention when I kept suggesting to everyone why we needed a VA office, with Ben leading the charge...)

They need to give you a raise!
Good job.
I think all vets should get free schooling, they deserve it.

heh I've been saying that for years... I love the school, but salary is not the biggest perk of the job, that's for sure. ;o)

They do, and this newest incarnaton of the GI Bill is the best that there has been.

:o,
