Hallelujah, I am finally home.
I had to go with my sister to the ambulatory care center because my mom fell on Friday. Mom was complaining of pain over her ribs, and it wasn't getting any better. So we figured it needed to get checked out.
We got to the a.c.c. at 1:30pm.
We left the a.c.c. at 8:50pm.
SEVEN hours sitting in a waiting room!! Holy crap, I can't believe it took so long! When we arrived, there were 20 people in front of us (as her injury wasn't life-threatening). All the chairs were full, good thing we were able to plop ma in a wheelchair. My sis and I stood for a while, but then I went to the ortho waiting room, way on the other end of the hall, because I needed to sit down. They didn't care, it was a total snooze fest.
Anyway, I am so tired, even though all I did was sit there. I woke up early today at 6:30 because Betty and I wanted to ride the bikes to see the rest of the biker babes off on the Vermont Trip. The trip I decided not to go on because I spent all my $$ on Tformer stuff. Good thing I didn't go, I don't think my sister would have survived the day by herself. Maybe she will listen to me next time, as I told her to go on Friday night, whether ma wanted to go or not. Or, at least on Saturday, before all the other holiday mishaps would happen.
Oh, ma broke a rib.

Not too much they can do for broken or cracked ribs nowadays. They don't even tape them anymore.
Thanks for asking.
She's very grumpy - she always was a lousy patient.

Ribs are easily broken. When I was about 6 my mum was in the garden hanging out some washing when the old lady who lived next door called her. She turned round and collapsed in pain. She ended up with pleurisy as well as a cracked rib and seemed to be ill in bed for ages.
Annoying, since Ivy was a bit bonkers and only called her to make mischief...
she's doing as well as can be expected for an 88 yo.
