I tried to add a countdown timer above, but couldn’t figure out how to get to show up here. I really suck with coding stuff. Ah well, I don’t have time to screw around with it now. I’ll just tell you that there are approximately 4 days, 15 hours before I leave for Toronto.

Holy crap - I didn't really realize that it was so close. \o/
It was in my head that I had a week. Guess not.
The plan is to pick up the rental car Friday morning, leave around 1 pm and arrive in TO sometime after 3 pm, depending on the bridge wait. Before I get to the hotel, I will run up to the Harley dealer (conveniently located up the street) to buy some souvenir shirts. It's tradition, you know.

I can't wait to get out of here. Got my tickets, hotel reservations and maps printed out, and I located the comic book for Peter Cullen to sign. I haven't found my Blurr car, but I have one more place to look. I don't think I have any Tracks memorabilia, I will consider buying something at the con.
I am sending in a question for the Cullen Q&A, but I'm not telling you what it is until later.
My suitcase is upstairs, and I think I know what I'm gonna wear. Phew, I am nervous and excited.

Anyone else going to be there besides S?
I don't think my phone will work in Canada, so I will post on LJ when I arrive, just in case anyone cares.
That's the exciting stuff.

It's been a very busy and stressful two weeks. My brother came to visit from Oklahoma, and brought the fam-damily. He couldn't park his trailer at ma's like before because the driveway was being redone in concrete. So he stayed at my aunt's house on the lake. It was weird, because he was kind of, out-of-sight, out-of-mind. Weather sucked the first week, plus I didn't get my bike back until that Friday, so we only went on one bike ride Saturday. But, it was a beautiful day and we rode down next to the lake to Barcelona Harbor.
He took a shot of me sitting on the dock.

So sad he's gone already. He helped me a lot around the house during the second week. They left yesterday.

I have hot water!!!! I guess that's exciting, too. Had a tankless heater installed on Wednesday.
What a saga that was, I tell ya. It took me so long to clean up and make room for the plumbers. I still have a small pile of wet paper bags in the corner of the pantry that have to be cleaned before I leave. Things are drying up, but it looks like I might have to replace the drywall where all that mold was. Great.
Anyway, the first plumber I called for an estimate declined the job. He was an older guy, and he didn't think he would be able to move the tank out and a new one in without hurting himself. My steps are pretty narrow and steep, and he didn't want to go down the hill on the side of the house. Plus, he wasn't that familiar with tankless or powervent (which is the kind I had) heaters.
So, I called another company and I liked what they said about the tankless. My bro was there to listen to the spiel, and he said the tankless sounded like the way to go and he would pay because it cost twice as much as the powervent. My bro is awesome.
The rugs I had in front of the back door are pretty trashed. Lots of mud got tracked in, so I think I’m just gonna toss them and buy some cheap 8X10 replacements from Walmart.
I need to move stuff back once I get the new rugs. Laundry is really piled high.

That was 38 days without hot water, going over to ma's to shower every few days.
And, I finally colored my hair yesterday, which made feel much happier. My hair was so dark and there were stripes of grey underneath that I really hated my looks. It is a bit lighter than I usually go, but at least I don't look like an old lady any more. Maybe I'll start wearing make-up every day again.
Nah. ;)

That’s all I can think of right now.
I need to get to sleep to prepare for another Monday. Yuck.

So glad you had a good visit with your bro, and hurray for hot water!

Have an awesome time in Toronto. I'm bummed I can't go, but RL is sucking up my time. So much to do, so little time.

haha, yeah we don't miss the water until we don't have it handy to use.

I understand RL sucking the life out of you, but this is the only 'vacation' I get now and I NEED it. Too much stress lately.
Maybe you should come next year. TO is a beautiful city to explore. Good for a family vacation. ;)
