Day 2 of the great Blizzard of 2014.
Supplies are running low. I only have one Little Debbie Swiss Cake roll left. I don’t know how I’m gonna survive. I may have to break out the Meta-mucil wafers.
The cat boxes need to be dumped outside, but I can’t fight the minus 10 degree weather anymore.  My gloves are wet.   My long underwear is not doing the job.  The cats dropped a dead mouse on my scarf this morning and I'm not wearing it again until it has been washed.  The scarf, not the mouse.
There has been a driving ban over the town all day. The NYS Thruway is closed from Rochester to the PA line. No food on the grocery store shelves. Oh, why didn’t I buy a snowmobile when I had the chance!
We are doomed. DOOMED, I TELL YOU!!
Hmm, where did I put that mouse...?

But, I have ice.
I have Coke.
I have Jack.
I will survive.

hahaha, just kidding.  I'm fine.  Dog is fine. Cats are fine.  Mouse is not.

Things are pretty bad outside. We haven’t had a real blizzard for about 10 years. Authorities figure one more day of negative wind chills and lots of snow blowing around.
There's even a flash flood warning for the upper Niagara River.  Apparently, a lot of ice was pushed over the ice boom   (  http://www.niagarafrontier.com/icebridge.html   ) today by the high winds.  The ice crammed the river and is blocking the flow of the water intakes for the electricity generator and pushing up water levels at least 4 feet.  So, people who live along the river are in danger of getting flooded basements.  Wah.  That's what happens when you live in such a spot.
get this – the temp is supposed to be in the low 40’s on Friday, so most of the snow should melt.  Which probably means more flooding.

I haven’t had to go to ma’s yesterday or today (driving ban), and I probably won’t go tomorrow either. It kind of sucks that I have all this time off and I can’t go anywhere.
I should be cleaning the house, but I played on the computer for most of the day.

Shoveled a bit this morning. Should have tried to start the truck, but I just couldn't force myself to go outside again. My battery is pretty new so it should start up tomorrow. I’m definitely gonna need to plow the driveway, especially down near the road. You know how those snowplows push all the snow into a two foot mound at the end of the driveway.  Very aggravating.

Took one cool pic today while standing in front of my kitchen window looking out.
This is a spider web covered with snow in the corner (and the egg cases) outside the window.  You can barely see my truck in front of the garage.
I've never seen anything like that before.  It was just weird how the wind blew snow into corners and it stuck.
Last night before I went to bed, the web was very delicate-looking, with wisps of snow covering it instead of the clumps you see now.  I tried to take a pic, but it was too dark and I wasn't going to go outside in the wind and try.

Well, I'm off to bed.  I think it's a two-cat night.  toodles.

[Crossposted from DW. Apparently, I like to spread my boring Spam all over the Internet. And, I paid for both sites, so I should use them like a mad monkey. Comment at either place, I'm easy.]

Stay safe!

Funnily enough, I love the Metamucil wafers. I was like, "Oh, I could happily do with those for awhile". LOL

It's even cold, here ... Didn't go out except to bring the recycling bucket in after the recycling was picked up. Too cold to walk the dogs. Waaa! (;
Chuck was very upset that he could not make it to work, today. He attempted driving several different routes to the airport and was turned back by police. His boss asked whether he told the cops that his getting to work was an emergency! Emergency?!!!?? REALLY?!!!!??? He's not in the Health Care Industry ... He fixes airplanes! Crap, I bet their plane couldn't take off out of Buffalo tonight, anyway! :) Geeeesh
Stay warm and safe and enjoy your down time!
