I am such a dupa-head.
Last fall, my pal convinced me to buy a bunch of bulbs to plant in some pots so I could have early color. I forgot about them until she asked me how they were doing a few weeks ago. I found a couple pots I left on my deck, pulled them out and watered them (which I was supposed to be doing all winter). No signs of life have showed, and I figured the bulbs had dried out and I wasted thirty bucks.

I didn't poke around in the dirt to see what was up because I am an expert in avoiding stuff I don't want to see.

Anywho, today was an awesome day, I didn't have to go over and help with ma, and my niece showed up in the morning to help me clean up my trailer trash house. We cleaned the gutters, raked up brambles and stuff from the side of the house and in my pathetic garden, stacked wood and burned papers and trash. I went in the garage to find more papers to burn (because sometimes in the winter I don't burn stuff - I just throw it in the garage to get it out of the house because I am a lazy aft). Lo and behold, I find these pots. Just inside the doors, too.

Apparently, I forgot which pots I planted the bulbs in, which made no difference to the bulbs. They pushed on, anyway. You can't stop nature.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the leaves to turn green.

In other news, my niece colored my hair for me today. I feel...better. It makes my hair softer and hides all that grey. On her advice, I am considering just letting my hair go natural. She seems to think that eventually it would look like I frosted my hair. I am just concerned as to how long it would take for the grey to travel down the length of my hair. Wouldn't it look funny if just the top of my head was frosted? I don't know, I certainly don't want to cut my hair. I haven't cut my hair since high school, which was a long, long time ago. But, who really cares what I look like, anyway?

On that same depressing vein, earlier this week, my ma was washing her hands in the bathroom, and I asked her a question, not expecting an answer. I said, "What do you see when you look in the mirror? Huh, ma, what do you see?" She looked at me, smiled and said, "The horror."
I thought that was sad, probably because I hate what I see when I look in the mirror. I've been feeling old and fat lately. (Which is why I did my hair, hoping to make myself feel better.)
But, my sister thought that was funny - ma was making a joke. Hmm, hard to tell.
She's been doing pretty well, blood clot and all. Taking her to the doctor for blood work every few days is a pain, but it must be done. Hopefully it will go to once a week soon, once her levels get regulated.

And, Ratchet is just about done with the latest round of antibiotics. He has lost so much weight. I used to compare him to a cinder block, he was such a porker. But, now he seems so light. Bluestreak is the bag of potatoes now. I think he's been eating the food in Ratchet's bowl just because he can. I've switched both of them to the 'special food'. I am surprised Ratch eats it at all - he's such a fussy cat. I guess it came down to eat what's there or starve.
And the bullying is still going on, but not quite as badly as before. I try to watch them when I'm home.

I was going to go to Walmart this evening because I haven't gone shopping in about three weeks. But, I was a bit pooped, so lay down around 6 for a short power nap. I woke up at 9, when the phone rang. !!! I didn't mean to sleep that long, I must have really needed the sleep. It was too late to shop, I didn't feel like getting dressed and leaving. Guess I'll go tomorrow evening after work.

In fact, I think I shall go to bed shortly. I did a lot of work this weekend and I'm not used to expending that much energy.

[Crossposted from DW. Apparently, I like to spread my boring Spam all over the Internet. And, I paid for both sites, so I should use them like a mad monkey. Comment at either place, I'm easy.]

Plants are amazing. What are these going to be?

Oh, Mom. I think she speaks for us all sometime! Glad to hear she is doing well with the clots. And Ratch, too. Let's just get everyone in the family on the mend, okay? :-)

The leaves are already starting to turn green!
I planted crocus, various flowering daffodils and some kind of iris. I hope they will still flower.

ha - we're trying!
