Fair Day!

My friend and I took our traditional, yearly trip to the Erie Co. Fair on Saturday. Beautiful day, we got there around 10:30am and left around 5pm. I was pooped once I got home and went to bed around 10pm. That's very early for me.

Did the usual stuff, ate yummy food, checked out exhibits and stuff for sale.

Hmm, chocolate covered bacon. Sounded interesting, but I can do that at home if I wanted, way cheaper than $5.

Kathy's veggie pizza. She said it was very good.

I don't like pizza, but curly fries? Oink oink.

Looked at the crafts -
isn't this balloon wreath cool? They just pinned balloons onto a straw wreath. Easy-peasy.

Learned how to wash a chicken. Nothing like I thought. The girl just dunked the bird in the buckets with shampoo. The chicken was very calm, as she was used to getting a bath.

We watched the Peking Acrobats. Very good show, they were so flexible and did lots of tricks. This one had the ladies climbing a metal pole and tucking their heads almost on their butts.

I wish I had been in a better position to get some other pics, but it was very crowded, and we missed the second show.

I haven't watched the Indian dancing in a few years, so I convinced Kathy to go with me to watch.
I'm sure you guys out West see this kind of stuff all the time. There was a contest going on - these are the contestants for the adult division of the Smoke Dance. And, at the end, a dance free-for-all. We really enjoyed watching them. It looks so easy, but I sure couldn't do that fancy footwork. Also found a couple Tformers in the Antique Mall, but for the life of me, I can't remember who they were! I do know I did get a Soundwave beach towel. Very thin, but the colors are still pretty clear. I may post it later. -geez, edited twice because of video-fail. I pasted the wrong one for the free-for-all, twice! derp. [Crossposted from DW. Apparently, I like to spread my boring Spam all over the Internet. And, I paid for both sites, so I should use them like a mad monkey. Comment at either place, I'm easy.]

Wow! I'm used to seeing prairie dances, this was a funky difference. I love me some long legged grassdancers but these guys are yum too. XD Tribe?

I don't think I have ever seen prairie dances. I'm going to see if there are any on youtube.

I uploaded the wrong video for the free-for-all.
Yes, I especially enjoyed the young buck who did his thing right in front of us. *sigh* Oh, to be 20 again....

They are Senecas.

Holy cow - that was cool!

I am guessing that they were supposed to be grouse?

I think I'm going to be wasting some time tonight looking for tribal videos.

How to wash a chicken! (I hope she didn't use the same demo chicken all day...)

Glad you had a good time!

I know -
now, if someone would only tell me how to milk a squirrel, my life would be complete!

It was only a once a day demonstration, so maybe it was the same bird.
