I DID! I DID! ME, ME, ME!
It was pretty cool and squee-worthy. Astronomy stuff gets me hot.
We will never see this again in our lifetime.
Tried to take a couple pics for my peeps. Not very good, as I used my cell phone. Couldn't find my camera - it must be under a pile of crap somewhere in the house.
I used binoculars, large opening pointed towards the sun, projected onto white paper. This was around 6:30pm. See that tiny dot in the lower right? The lenses flip the image, if we looked with the naked eye, the dot (Venus) would be in the upper left.

Around 7:45pm, the sun was starting to go behind the trees. Sorry, these came out blurry.

I wanted to try those special effects again.
Sunset with negative effect.

And, once again my fav, sunset with solarizing effect. Golly, that is purty.

And, just because I want to - the doe in my backyard when I came home for lunch today.
I recognize her, she's got a darker muzzle. Her 2 buddies were probably in the undergrowth. I bet she has a couple fawns in there, too.

Off topic -
I thought this was funny.
I bought a pair of scissors the other day. It seems that I needed a pair of scissors to open the package. It's really secure. hahaha.

Here's stupid me with poison ivy on my face. [Holy crap, look at those grey hairs! Time to bring out the hair color.]

I pulled a weed out of my in-law's flower bed Saturday evening. No, it wasn't poison ivy - I know what p.i. looks like. The weed I pulled was about 6 inches away from some p.i. and must have had some of the oil on it. I didn't wash my hands, and I distinctly remember rubbing my eye when we were talking about Rick.
Gah - what kind of a farm girl am I? Apparently a stupid one!
It itches like crazy. I need more benadryl and calamine lotion.
That's enough for today!
And...
how the heck did my LJ inbox get up to 410 messages so quickly?!
[Crossposted from DW. Apparently, I like to spread my boring Spam all over the Internet. And, I paid for both sites, so I should use them like a mad monkey. Comment at either place, I'm easy.]

Yes, that stuff is still around and still works great.
Thank you.
The deer is beautiful, she is very distinctive with that dark muzzle.
Yikes, so sorry about the sneaky poison ivy juice attack!
Yes she is - I should name her Venus! Most deer have something distinctive about them, if you look close enough. I remember one from 20 years ago that had a very dark coat - it was so pretty.
*itch-itch-itch* I need to go wash my face now with ultra hot water, it helps stop the itch.
I posted some links to some interesting deer colorations for you that I had in my Flickr favorites:

I think I told you when MS released the piebald deer that we have some of them around the Buffalo Airport. I never saw them, but Rick did driving truck late at night.
That guy should have left the baby albino alone, the mother was probably in the area.
Thanks for the lovely pics!
I wasn't allergic to poison ivy in the past. Only about 12 years ago did it start to affect me.
Welcome.
Oh HON, your face. +douses with calamine lotion+
*HUGS*
I itch really badly - I have to go take care of it RIGHT NOW! Hot water and then calamine. I will look stunning.
(The fire dept came to the door for donations last night. I felt stupid with pink crap on my face. He didn't say anything, but I'm sure they had a good laugh in the truck.)
*HUGS BACK*
Also, not to be creepy, but you have gorgeous eyes! 0.0
Aww, you make me blush. ;)
