Ma is fine

Thanks, all for your good wishes and positive energy.
Ma is doing well and it doesn't  look like cancer.  But, we have to wait for the bio to be done.

Both my sis and I were pretty tired and cranky this afternoon when we got home!  So, what else is new.
I went to bed way too late yesterday at 11pm, because I procrastinate like nobody's business when I'm supposed to get stuff ready.  I'm surprised I woke up this morning - I set my alarm for 4:50 - PM!!   Bad, bad, bad.  Talk about my subconscious taking over.
I can't believe I woke up on my own at 4:38am.  My guardian angel must have poked me.

Happy Fat Tuesday.  I certainly ate enuf chocolate while in the waiting room to justify giving it up for Lent.  Although I really should give up potato chips.  They are my weakness.  Or McD's french fries.  Maybe I should just try to eat healthier.
...
Nah.

Speaking of Fat Tuesday -
Have you ever been to New Orleans?  I have, a couple times.  My sis lived there for quite a few years while she worked on her PhD.  I never saw Mardi Gras, but we did hit all the famous places in the French Quarter.  I still have a double handful of authentic necklaces that she sent me from parades she attended.  They look way different from the ones you get nowadays.
The first time I went, back in the late 70's, I took about 10 rolls of pics of the cemeteries - the mausoleums are so cool.  I wonder where those pics are?  Ah, those were the good old days....
I would like to go back, but it is highly unlikely.  RL just makes it so hard to have any fun when you're supposed to be a responsible adult.
Bad enough I'm taking a vacation to go to BotCon.

And speaking of BotCon -
Is anyone interested in going with me to the Ellen show on Thursday, 6/2?
I'm renting a car and plan to act like a tourist on Wed, Thurs and Fri.
From what I read, it could be an all day thing.  Some blogs say to get there at 11am, others say 1pm, for taping at 4 or 5pm.  Tickets have to be requested a couple months in advance and you have to show ID.
Here is basic info:

And here are some other info links.

It might be cool to see a flood of TF shirts in the audience.
Plus, sometimes you get free stuff.

If I can cram myself into a suitcase, you can take me ANYWHERE! LOL You lucky woman going to BotCon. I will live vicariously through you!

So good to hear your Mom will probably be in no deadly danger.

I live behind a cemetery. I have taken some interesting photos of the 19th century tombstones and the amazing statues people have made for family plots.

Ooooh, Lent. Back when I was Catholic, I always strived to give up sweets. Never lasted long. For me, giving up McDonalds fries would be like Charlie Sheen trying to give up coke! LOL

We celebrate Fat Tuesday here in Lancaster County, PA by having Faschnauts. Ever had them? Personally, I think they are bland. But Dad puts syrup on his to give it some flavor. One of the Catholic churches I used to attend makes thousands of them from scratch this week. They make a boatload of money!

Well, I was going to try to just take a carry on bag. Can you shrink yourself to Barbie doll size? If they ever come to the northeast and I decide to drive, maybe I could pick you up on the way. We'll see.

I love cemeteries. You should post some of the best pics, I'd be interested.

Lent. What a drag. My sis is nagging me to go with her to Mass today (Ash Wednesday), but I don't want to. Plus, I have to work tonight. Charlie is messed up - I predict he dies this year.

I've seen faschnauts - we do have them around here. The Buffalo area is very Polish, and paczki donuts are very popular on Fat Tuesday. I believe it is prounounced 'plot-ski'. I've never eaten either, I prefer cream filled donuts.

Just a carry-on?! Wow, that would hold a day's worth of my stuff! Do you take an empty suitcase for your souvenirs and merch?

I will post some pics from the cemetery just for you.

I pity Sheen's Dad and children most of all.

We have Paczki donuts available here, but they are nowhere near as popular as the faschnauts. Mmmmm.....cream filled donuts. :drools:

I don't know if I can do a week with just a carry on or not. I'm gonna try to pick specific outfits. We'll see.
Last year I mailed back 2 boxes of toys and clothes, plus I had specific toys packed in my suitcase. I will probably mail stuff again.

I'm so glad your mom is doing okay! :D

Never been to New Orleans. Never been further south (in the States) than Georgia.

Me too!

There are so many cool places to visit in the states. I wish I had time to drive through them all.
