Am I the only person in the fandom that hates the song, "The Touch"?
Bleah, it makes me wanna hurl.

You got the touch, You got the power

After all is said and done
You've never walked, you've never run,
You're a winner
You got the moves, you know the streets
Break the rules, take the heat
You're nobody's fool
You're at your best when when the goin' gets rough
You've been put to the test, but it's never enough

You got the touch, You got the power

When all hell's breakin' loose
You'll be riding the eye of the storm
You got the heart, You got the motion
You know that when things get too tough
You got the touch

You never bend, you never break
You seem to know just what it takes
You're a fighter

It's in the blood, it's in the will
It's in the mighty hands of steel
When you're standin' your ground
And you never get hit when your back's to the wall
Gonna fight to the end and you're takin' it all

You got the touch, You got the power

When all hell's breakin' loose
You'll be riding the eye of the storm
You got the heart, You got the motion

You know that when things get too tough
You got the touch

You're fightin' fire with fire
You know you got the touch
You're at your best when when the road gets rough
You've been put to the test, but it's never enough

You got the touch, You got the power.

Maybe because it makes me think of Hot Rod and how he contributed to OP's death in the movie.

Just wonderin'....

LOL!!

I can't stand "You've never walked, you've never run". What he'd do, skip?! Stupid generic, meaningless lyrics!

The first time I heard "Dare", I thought it was "Dead". As in:

"Dead! Dead to believe you can survive!
You hold the future in your hand
Dead - Dead to keep all of your dreams alive! (HAHAHAHA!)
It's time to take a stand
And you can win, if you're dead!"

BFF and I still sing it that way. :-)

And don't get me started on Hunger.

"I can't believe my.......
OH GIRL!
I want it so bad I can taste it!
It drives me mad to see it wasted!
When I need it so bad that it's burnin' meeeeee!"

We were confused as to why a song about needing a woman was in a Transformers movie. Whoops!

Phew, I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I don't recognize those other 2 songs. But, I have only seen 'The Movie' [Of Evil That Never Really Happened In My Little Corner Of The Universe] once.
Touch was on the charts, I believe, and everyone in the fandom either sings or references it.

No, you're not the only one. I HATE that song, and I HATE how it is considered the TF song by excellence. It's not even that is associated with Hot Rod and Prime's hanging the tennis shoes, I just find the song HORRIBLE even for an 80s song. And that's saying something coming from an 80s cheesy music fan. XD

Cheesy is EXACTLY the word!

Maybe we need to form a 'Hate The Touch' support group.

[Never heard the phrase 'hanging the tennis shoes' before. I presume you mean dying. Funny. On another note, I do know that tennis shoes over power lines means you can buy drugs there.]

I dunno, I've never really squeed over it but it makes me happy. It's got a few really cool parts.

I can see why you'd hate it though. |D

Re: Songs
Can't recall the actual song from the movie, so I guess it must be pretty unmemorable stuff (you can probably take comfort from that!)

I like all kinds of music and have some excellent CDs in various musical genres. But one of my pet hates is the way songwriters think it's OK to string a few random fragments together to make a "song" - and people fall for it! They allow themselves to get fleeced so that these con artists make loadsa dosh, while genuinely good stuff never makes it into the charts or onto airplay. To me (probably because I'm a writer at heart) a song should have a story as much as a novel or short story should. And often there's nothing to pull the things together so that they make some kind of sense, so you just get mediocre mush even when the actual musical accompaniment sounds OK. I reckon a lot of listeners never actually hear the words at all.

Sorry about the rant, but it does make me cross. How stupid do songwriters think their audiences are?

Re: Songs
Unfortunately, I only had to hear it once to remember it for.ev.er.
ug.

I have a hard time hearing words to songs. Usually I have to look them up on the internet. Same for movies, I always have the words appearing on the screen because I just can't understand or hear what they are saying.
Some songs are OK with no story. I guess I care more for melody than content.
