Snow Day #2

Alright, alright. This is enough snow, thanks very much.
You can stop now.

In the past 24 hours, we have received an additional 15 inches.
It sure seems like more. My driveway is so deep in snow that, even if my plow truck would start, it's too deep to plow. It's mid-thigh on me, and I'm 5'6".

Apparently, we have set a new record for total amount of snowfall in 24hrs.
...
yay. *she says sarcastically*

The motorists that were stranded on the Thruway, some for 30 hours, are all finally rescued. Gosh, that must be awful to be stuck in a car for that long. There's a big crap-storm going on in social media about how the Thruway closing was handled and how there was no one going around to cars checking on people.

I always carry food, water blanket, candle-in-a-soup-can and extra socks when I go somewhere.
haha - reminds me of a story Rick told when he got stuck in the snow overnight on the I-490 during one of his Rochester deliveries.
He just had a regular double sleeper, nothing too huge. Well, they had been at a stand-still for a few hours and the drivers were entertaining themselves on the CB. A woman trekked up to his door from a caddy that was behind the trailer and banged on his door. He rolled down the window and she asked him, "You got a bathroom in there?"
Well, he told her no, and she went back to her car.
He immediately got on the radio and joked with the guys, saying, "Yeah, lady. Down the hall, second door on the right."
I always found that amusing. But, I guess if you had never been in a cab, you wouldn't know what was in there.
When I rode with him, I used to like to take a little nap back there - the bouncing made me sleepy.

Anywho -
They are forecasting approx 8 more inches tonight, and it is snowing right now.
Thursday, another lake snow band is coming through and they estimate another foot or more of snow. Ah, it's just on TV now, 10-16 inches for my area. Out to the east, 2-4 more FEET of snow.

And, get this - Sunday the temp is expected to get up to 49 degrees, and on Monday they say 55 degrees!!
And people say Buffalo is boring.

Everything was quiet and very pretty today, with the sun shining in a light blue sky.
Took a couple pics this morning, in between shoveling a poo-spot for Harley.

My electric went off around 10am, and I finally went to bed around 12:30pm because I was bored and cold.
Slept until 2:45pm, and it looks like the electric came back on around 1pm. That's good, because I'm not burning any wood (because my basement isn't organized) and when there's no electric, the pump won't work. That's why I ALWAYS keep 2 buckets of water in the bathtub for flushing and gallon jugs of water on the cellar steps.
I'm always prepared. Like an old Girl Scout.

Now I need to find some food.
I was going to make crock pot meatloaf, but that nap threw me off. So, meatloaf tomorrow. Maybe more steak today. Or tooter fish.

[Crossposted from DW. Apparently, I like to spread my boring Spam all over the Internet. And, I paid for both sites, so I should use them like a mad monkey. Comment at either place, I'm easy.]
