Is there such a thing as having too many robins?

Found some eggs on April 29th.
Photobucket

I figured their days were numbered, because of the unsafe nesting site.

Low and behold, more eggs on May 1st.

And, everyone has survived so far! Yesterday showed 2 babies, and you can see the third egg cracking.
Photobucket

Today you can see the 3 babies, with one egg left.

I do not know if the last one hatched or not, the parents were pretty close all day and I didn't want to bother them. I will try to check tomorrow.

I also have a nest on the corner of the house. I see the mama bird is gone quite often, so I am guessing the eggs hatched. It would be too hard to get up there and peek without really annoying the parents, so I shall watch from afar.

And then, surprise, surprise. I was hanging my laundry in the back and a robin was making quite a ruckus when I got near the shed. There was a nest in there last year, and they used it again. Just took a quick shot.

Robins are awesome. I hope they all survive.

[Crossposted from DW. Apparently, I like to spread my boring Spam all over the Internet. And, I paid for both sites, so I should use them like a mad monkey. Comment at either place, I'm easy.]

Man, my dad would be sooooo jealous! He would probably love to have nesting birds and bebbies outside the house -- Birdwatching is his hobby XD

For some reason, robins really like to nest near/on houses. My mom's house has one on the upper porch pillar almost every year. The log ends of my house are perfect nesting spots. One year I had a mourning dove nest there.

I watch birds, but I don't know very many of them!

Oh, oh, oh... those blue eggs are so beautiful! And the little birds are so cute! And wow, that pic where the egg is cracking and you can see the baby inside is amazing. Also, that nest on the corner is brilliantly placed, it's almost like it was designed just for bird nests.

This is a great Mother's Day post. :D Thanks for sharing the pics.

I wish I had been able to get a shot of the baby more out of the shell, but those parents had other ideas.
Yeah, just call me the manager of The Birdie Motel.

I love robins, too.
Believe it or not, starling eggs are almost the exact same color as robin eggs. I hate starlings.

Well, we'll see if the garage ones survive. Last year's eggs were eaten. :(
