Meme Mulligan

A couple more answers to that meme going around.

Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

1.  Motorcycles
Every woman should have one!  I believe the 2 things that really made me feel more self-confident were my CB radio and motorcycle.
I love the feeling of really being part of a machine.  I mean, you are basically sitting right on an engine, with all the vibrations going to all the right places.  And, those riding vibrator jokes are kind of true if you are talking Harleys.  My Honda doesn't vibrate nearly as much.  hahaha.

2.  Ideal place to live
Any of the Hawaiian islands.   I went there for my first honeymoon and it was glorious.  If I could retire there, I would.  I thought it was even more of a paradise than California.
I am really getting sick of the cold weather.

3.  Dream car
Lamborghini.  What a surprise, huh?

4. You are somewhere in outer space O_O What are you doing out there?
Ideally, I am in space "to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before."  I would love to see other worlds.  Sometimes I think I was born too early, before space travel had become the norm.  I have always thought that there had to be other life forms somewhere, the universe is just too large and varied for there not to be.

5.  You have a super power - what is it?
Mind reading.  I always wanted to be able to see what people were really thinking.  Although, I would want to be able to turn the ability on and off, at will. I don't want to go crazy, after all.

6. Weirdest dream you ever had
This is a tough one.  I can't remember details, but once I dreamed that Ironhide was at my mom's house.  And in another dream, there was some sort of war going on, and my brother came home to mom's and we were fighting off soldiers that kept pouring out of the woods.  We had tanks and artillery stored in the barn, and we blew them up.
When I was younger, I used to dream I was flying all the time.  I would start running around the farm and suddenly jump up in the air and as long as I kept pumping my legs, I would fly over the house and barns.  I haven't had that dream in a long, long time.  I think I am too old and bogged down in reality.  I miss that flying feeling.

7.  the last tastiest foodie you ate
That would have to be the Schwan's chocolate and vanilla malt ice cream I had last night.

1. Favorite place to go on your motorcycle
There’s a burger/ice cream joint on the shore of Lake Erie, where you can get your food and go outside and sit on huge rocks on the beach.   Across the lake, you can just about make out the Canadian shoreline.  Off to the right, you can see the windmills, and beyond that, the Buffalo skyline.  It is very pretty and relaxing because whush of the waves drowns out most other noises.  Sometimes you can hear the music from the bar up the beach, but only if the wind is right.  And the sunsets are usually spectacular, if you stay that long.

2. Last movie you saw
I just saw ‘Bridesmaids’ Friday night.  Maybe because of my age, but I was less than impressed.  The dress shop scene was disgusting.  The characters were stereotypical and I found it hard to like any of them.  I liked the cop, though, probably because of the accent.  I think I was looking for something more in the line of ‘Thelma & Louise’.
I rented ‘Priest’ for tonight, so we’ll see how that one goes.  It’s got vampires, so it’s gotta be decent.

3. The Beatles/The Rolling Stones - debate!
Wow.
Beatles –
appealed to more of a cross section of fans.
dressed neatly and looked clean
songs were light and easy to understand
Paul was sooo cute.
Lennon was a song writing genius
Weird mystical shit eventually crept in.
Yoko ruined them
Lennon’s death was the first celebrity death that really hit me.
One of the first albums I ever got was ‘Help!’

Stones –
appealed to rebellious youngsters.
wore weird clothes and looked like they needed a shower.
hard-hitting lyrics about bad things.
Mick Jagger had the ugliest lips on the continent.
How the Stones could write anything all drugged up amazes me.
Weirdness was always there.
Drugs ruined them.
Richards should be dead, from what I hear of the abuse he put his body through.
I don’t have any of their albums.

Obviously, I don’t know that much about either of them, but, I would have to favor the early Beatles.  More poetic and…easy to listen to.
The Stones are raw and sometimes the overt sexuality just doesn’t fit with my moods.  But, I have to say that ‘Angie’ is one of my favorite songs of all time.

4. Favorite Muppet
Oh, it’s a tie between Beaker and Zoot.
Beaker is just so cute and nerdy and I want to cuddle him up.  Zoot, on the other hand, epitomizes ‘cool’.  And I love saxophones.

5. Your best trait
I would have to say, I am very laid-back and I can get along with just about anybody.  Not that I never get pissed off - I may be ticked for awhile - but I get over things very quickly and forget.  I am probably one of the most forgiving people on this Earth.  (For example, the fact that I still talk to my friend who ruined my credit.)

6. Something fun about where you live
The Erie County Fair, one of the largest county fairs in the country.  I have gone every year, sometimes multiple days, since I was a kid.  The food, the smells, the exhibits, the animals, the stuff to buy, the people!  You just can’t beat the fun.

7. A skill you'd like to aquire/get better at
I wish I was better at drawing and using paints.  I do have some artistic skill, but my forte is pen and ink.  I was never very good with realistic oils or acrylics.

Enjoyed reading your answers! Especially the 'Favorite place to go on your motorcycle' answer, sounds lovely. And windmills, even!
And your deer photo from the previous post was gorgeous. I found the ears first, heh.

You're not the only one who wasn't gaga over Bridesmaids. The best part of it was the Irish guy. I adore Melissa McCarthy, but I just couldn't see what gave her an Oscar nomination there.
